Frank Lebouef is always worth listening to on Chelsea topics, and his clear headed opinion on the Mason Mount contract standoff is worth a watch.
The former defender made it very clear he wanted Mount at the club – but also looked at it from the club’s point of view.
They know he produced in the past, but “the present is not there,” after a season where his performances dropped off, along with the rest of the team.
Mount just chose a bad time for contract talks it seems, with this time a year ago seeing him max out his value to the club.

He should be sold and get the book balanced. Mount, Sterling, Gallagher, Odoi etc should be sold.
Yup, been saying this for the last couple of months. Mount is overplaying his hand. The club are right to try and keep him, but they’re also right for refusing to let a guy who’s only had a couple of decent seasons and then a big drop-off extort us.
