What journalist believes Pochettino’s imminent arrival at Chelsea means for Harry Kane

Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival at Chelsea as their next permanent manager is imminent, according to the reliable Sami Mokbel of The Daily Mail.

Pochettino isn’t expected to start until the summer, with Frank Lampard looking likely to keep the caretaker role until then, but an agreement is reportedly very close now and we should hear confirmation on that soon, as per multiple other outlets as well.

Sources: Chelsea owners admit they’ve made mistakes!

Pochettino was of course the former manager of PSG and Tottenham, and it was at the latter where he enjoyed a reasonably successful time. His main man up top was England striker Harry Kane, who is still at the club of course.

But his future is up in the air as his contract runs down, and Kane and Pochettino are said to have enjoyed a very good relationship together at the club.

Mokbel says Daniel Levy’s efforts to stop Kane from joining Manchester United this summer are set to be complicated by Pochettino’s imminent appointment by Chelsea. Pochettino and Kane grew close at Spurs and the Argentine would jump at the chance to work with Kane again.

However, the report also makes it clear that the chances of Levy selling Kane to Chelsea appear remote.
