Well it all went on last night in the world of Chelsea, with some huge surprising news coming out of nowhere.
Despite being seen at the Chelsea vs Liverpool game on Tuesday night, nobody expected that Frank Lampard would be returning to Chelsea in any capacity yet. But here we are just one day later and Fabrizio Romano has given the ‘here we go’ on Lampard returning as Chelsea interim manager until the end of the season.
Insights into Julian Nagelsmann as a manager!
🚨 Frank Lampard, set to become new Chelsea caretaker manager — there’s an agreement in principle valid until the end of the current season. Here we go. 🔵🤝🏻

But where does that leave them with their permanent manager search? Is Lampard in with a shout to have that? Literally nothing would surprise me anymore with these Chelsea owners!
Writing in his exclusive CaughtOffside column, Romano has provided the very latest information on the whole situation, and it looks like Chelsea will still be pursuing a new permanent manager for the summer.
Romano said: “There’s an agreement in principle between Lampard and Chelsea on short term deal. It won’t change Chelsea intention to find new coach for long term project; Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique remain in the race for sure, of course most likely waiting for the summer now.”
Well, get strapped in for another crazy day at Chelsea, with literally anything being able to happen there right now!
