“Tough, a warrior” – Chelsea legend reveals what it was like against Pochettino as a player

Mauricio Pochettino will soon be announced as the next manager of Chelsea Football Club, per multiple reports now.

We are just waiting on an official announcement from the club, but the former Tottenham and PSG boss is expected to take the reigns at Stamford Bridge at the end of this season.

Sources: Mauricio Pochettino asks some of Frank Lampard’s current staff to stay on at the club!

Pochettino’s experiences with PSG as manager was not the first time he was at the club though, many people forget that Pochettino was also a very good centre back and not only played for PSG as a player, but captained them as well.

His PSG side once faced a Marseille team captained by former Chelsea player and club legend Frank Leboeuf, who was also a very good centre back.

With Pochettino set to join Chelsea, Leboeuf has been explaining what he was like as a player in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea FC column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea this week.

Leboeuf said: “I absolutely wish Pochettino the best. I played against him when he was captain of PSG and I was captain of Marseille – so there was a big rivalry. He had his long hair! He’s somebody I always consider as one of the best centre backs that I played against. He was a strong guy, tough, a warrior, and a good mentality. I found him very smart the way he thinks about football when he talks and he is a very interesting guy. Hopefully he is going to bring what we are expecting from him at Chelsea – success.”
