“100%” – Fabrizio Romano has one transfer certainty for Chelsea this summer

Chelsea’s transfer season is really getting up and running now.

With the games of last season in the rear view, a new manager selected, and days running out until an important accounting deadline, the Blues have got into gear and we would be very surprised to not see moves before the end of this week.

One player certain to be on his way out is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and the club won’t be waiting to sign a new forward before they let him go.

Fabrizio Romano has tonight released a Tweet claiming that he will “100%” leave and that he’s in talks with Al Ahli and Al Shabab, two of the teams in the growing Saudi league.

It’s handy for Chelsea to have clubs who can offer him a good wage interested. They will take a very low fee, or maybe even allow Auba to walk for free.

It gets him off their books, but means that a striker becomes even more of a necessity. Prices are only going up. We need to find a better solution than we did a year ago when we panicked and signed the Gabon striker from Barcelona. Or the summer before where we dropped huge money on Romelu Lukaku.

Kai Havertz was the year before that – he’s for sale now too, Before that, Timo Werner, who is already gone. We’re not very good at this, are we?
