£150,000 a week attacker agrees personal terms to leave Chelsea

Kai Havertz has given the “green light” to Arsenal’s contract offer according to a Tweet last night from Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian insider says there are “no problems on personal terms” after the attacker met with Gunners chiefs. Now it will come down to the two clubs to sort out a transfer fee. That’s where things become a little trickier – Chelsea want £75m but Romano insists there is “no chance” Arsenal pay that.

He admits that Chelsea “will be flexible” on that front and we can well imagine that to be the case. We just aren’t in a position to enforce anything on Arsenal here, as there may not be much concrete interest from elsewhere in Havertz.

Bayern have apparently asked to be “informed” but that’s all from their end, while Real are “100% out” of any pursuit. If both of those parties stay clear of negotiations, Arsenal will be in a much better position to push the price down.

Now that personal terms are agreed this could move quickly – but in fact we expect a bit of a waiting game from both sides now as they attempts to see where things settle elsewhere.
