AC Milan push for Chelsea man on loan – but option to buy sounds unrealistic

AC Milan are interesting in taking Carney Chukwuemeka on loan from Chelsea, according to an exclusive from Gianluca Di Marzio released just now.

He says that Chelsea could loan him out – with a right to buy. We don’t see that at all – we bought him a year ago and have barely given him a chance in the first team to prove himself. A loan move would be fantastic, a right to buy would only be a negative for us.

It doesn’t seem likely at all – and in fact we would wager that invalidates the whole rumour as a confection. But the loan is interesting – and we suppose that a purchase option could be included if it’s prohibitively high. But in that case, what’s the point for Milan?

As we’ve been repeating in all our articles about AC Milan in the last week however, it is vital to remember that they sacked their sporting director and technical director last weekend, and we can’t expect any significant moves from their end until they have sorted a succession plan.

We wasted a year of Chukwuemeka’s career this season and we can’t risk another on the bench. He needs to play and Milan would be a great place to do it. But there’s simply no need to give the Italian side the option to buy him.

We expect other teams to be interested in taking him on loan, so there is no need to give up anything we don’t want to.
