Chelsea are looking to try and complete a deal to sign a defensive midfielder and have been working on it for the last few days.
They face competition from PSG to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte, and last night, news started to break in Portugal claiming that the deal was either super close, or even fully done.

However, it looks like some outlets have jumped the gun on this. Because according to Fabrizio Romano’s latest update first thing on Sunday more, although the deal is described as advanced, Manuel Ugarte’s move to Chelsea is not yet done or agreed, and PSG are still ‘around’ on this one.

Some Chelsea fans should be careful celebrating a ‘done deal’ prematurely because they might end up disappointed if it does not get done. Also it’s probably best to wait for more sources other than just the local ones, to report a done deal before we get ourselves too carried away. Let’s hope Chelsea can get it done.
