BBC: Manchester United readying second bid for Chelsea star

Chelsea are bracing themselves for a second offer from Manchester United for one of their key players this transfer window.

It’s no secret that United are trying to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea this summer, and yesterday there was news that came in about a bid being rejected by Chelsea for the England international.

As per The BBC, that offer was £40m and was turned away by Chelsea, who are demanding more money to sell their academy asset.

The report says that Chelsea’s valuation of £70m is seen as unrealistic by United. Having said that though, they are expected to come back in with a second offer for Mount very soon.

United are said to be mindful of their overall transfer budget this summer.

Chelsea have been in contract talks with Mount for much of last season but there has been no agreement reached. It looks like this one if really on a bit of a knife-edge right now, but United will have to pay up if they want him.
