Chelsea defender ready take career to next level with this important loan

Chelsea defender Bashir Humphreys is set to kick things up a notch after a strong start to senior football this season just gone.

After making his way all the way to the top tier of our youth teams, Humphreys went out on loan in January to join Paderborn in the German second division. He slotted right in there despite the pressures of playing in a new environment, and now according to the Evening Standard there’s significant interest in taking him on loan from teams in the Championship.

The most interesting example named is Coventry, who lost out on Premier League promotion in the playoff final, but look set for another strong season under Mark Robins. If Humphreys was able to get into that team and shine, it would really show off his skills on a new stage.

He has a lot on his plate if he’s aiming to get into the Chelsea first team one day, but at the very least this kind of move would set him up nicely for a good transfer somewhere down the line.
