Chelsea given good news on priority target pursuit with main rival not in strong

Chelsea face rivals for a number of their transfer targets this summer, and it is set to be the case throughout the transfer window.

This is why they might need to look at moving quick now on signing Brighton midfielder, Moises Caicedo.

Sources: Chelsea discussed signing former Liverpool striker this transfer window!

We have consistently been hearing that he is a priority target for the Blues and they are set to bid once they get some outgoing transfer done. And that has already happened, so where is the bid?

Well, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano expects Chelsea to start official negotiations anytime now with Brighton regarding Caicedo, which is sounding positive. But will they face any big rivals to sign him?

Manchester United were thought to be one, but Romano has thrown shade over their interest, luckily for Chelsea, saying it is not strong and they are concentrating on other signings, ironically Chelsea’s own Mason Mount.

Writing in his exclusive transfer column for Caught Offside today, Romano says: “Chelsea are also set to enter into direct negotiations with Brighton for Moises Caicedo and they want to enter in very strong way, so let’s see the next steps now.

“At the moment, Manchester United’s appreciation of Caicedo remains, but it’s nothing more advanced than that as they’re focused on Mount as of today.”

He added: “Brighton’s precise asking price for Caicedo is not clear at the moment – there have been some conflicting reports on that.”
