Chelsea make goalkeeper swap proposal to Italian club

Chelsea have reportedly made a proposal to an Italian club this week that would see an exchange of goalkeepers.

We have often seen stories of trade deals being offered or worked on by Chelsea’s new owners, but we have yet to see any come to fruition. If there is a potential opportunity to exchange players that might benefit both clubs though, it looks like Chelsea still really want to try and make that happen.

According to a report from Foot Mercato this weekend, as cited by Football Italia, Chelsea have offered Edouard Mendy to Inter Milan as part of a deal that would see their goalkeeper Andre Onana go in the other direction to Stamford Bridge.

It’s not the first time Onana has been linked with Chelsea of late, and we do know they are looking to make changes between the sticks this summer. The report does not indicate whether Inter would be interested in Mendy or not though, so it seems quite unrealistic at this stage.
