Chelsea set to push to sign two Premier League midfielders after Ugarte move collapses

Manuel Ugarte to PSG has now had the ‘here we go’ call from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, meaning any hope anyone had remaining that he might still end up at Chelsea can all but be put to bed now.

This was a rollercoaster transfer saga that was full of public drama, one that Chelsea fans will hope they won’t have to go through much more this summer!

Sources: Chelsea’s midfield transfer plans now Manuel Ugarte is off to PSG!

But you just know they will….

And they probably will when attempting to sign one of the two midfielders that they are lining up right now instead of Ugarte.

According to an exclusive by The Daily Express today, Chelsea are expected to push for Romeo Lavia (not technically PL next season but was this season) from Southampton this summer, as well as Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

They claim that Lavia has been in regular contact with Joe Shields this season and also chatted with Eden Hazard about the club late last year.

Chelsea have also identified Brighton star Caicedo as a target and are set to pursue him aggressively soon, having sounded out the Ecuador international’s entourage in recent weeks.
