Chelsea tell Spanish club they “will invoke the release clause” for their player

Chelsea will reportedly invoke the release clause for a player very soon to make a summer signing.

It’s all been about outgoings so far at Chelsea since the transfer window opening, with some of those deals seemingly advancing to the latter stages now. But Chelsea are super busy right now, and at the same time as sorting those out, they are also in talks regarding buying players as well.

Of course, we are all well aware that they need to sign a new striker or two in the upcoming weeks and months, and it looks like they may well have sensed an opportunity to sign one already.

Nicolas Jackson of Villarreal has a release clause of around £30m, and it looks like Chelsea are about to trigger that clause.

The negotiations are now in to the final stages according to Fabrizio Romano in his latest YouTube video, as seen below, and the talks are regarding how Chelsea will pay the clause.
