Chelsea to “attack” top target with biggest sales secured

Chelsea have been biding their time in terms of purchases this summer, with their focus understandably on selling players after a summer of spending a year ago.

But now that a host of their top earners have been ditched, and now that big fees have been brought in for Kai Havertz and Mason Mount, it’s time for the club to go on the “attack,” as Fabrizio Romano puts it this morning.

He claims that the Blues top target remains Moises Caicedo, and with personal terms with the player already agreed, it’s now time for “Chelsea Brighton direct negotiation.”

This is going to be expensive – and could get messy. We know that Brighton want £100m and they may well get it given the interested teams.

But there have been plenty of indications that the Seagulls would accept an offer closer to £80m, and if Chelsea really want things to progress quickly they would do well to just put that on the table and tell Brighton to take it or leave it. Getting stuck into protracted negotiations only opens the door for further competition for his signature – and the associated rise in price.

  1. I wory enough to see my team Chelsea fighting for relegation battle for the coming season, the issue of selling all experienced players sounds nosense, you cannot enter the war with all new recruits,I don’t see the future of the club

  2. Why selling of the most experience players in Chelsea. I just hope our new coach is doing the good job. Please we need midfielder and striker.
