Chelsea have been told to sign a new goalkeeper who is ‘top of the top’ by one of their former players.
As we know, Chelsea have a number of positions they are looking to sign in this summer, one of which being a new stropper, with Edouard Mendy’s move to Saudi on the verge of being announced now.
Top quality goalkeepers do not grow on trees, but former Chelsea captain Frank Leboeuf believes he knows just the goalkeeper that Chelsea should sign, and it is one who continues to be strongly linked to a move to Stamford Bridge – Mike Maignan of AC Milan.
Chelsea have been doing a deal or two with AC Milan over the years, could they now be looking to strike another one for one of the best stoppers in the world at this current time?
Well, Leboeuf says they should, speaking in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea this week.

Leboeuf said: “Mike Maignan from AC Milan has been linked to Chelsea this week, and he is certainly one player who can stop the goals. Maignan is a crazy good goalkeeper. Him and Andre Onana are the future of goalkeepers, they are the top of the top. They’re both very calm, very secure, knowing what they have to do, knowing how to play with their feet. Centre backs feel so safe with goalkeepers like that behind you. Chelsea should definitely get Maignan if we can’t get Onana. If you can’t get Maignan, you have to get Onana. For me they are the two targets you have to go for.”
You are right. Chelsea needs a goalkeeper not Kepa
