Frank Leboeuf says “the biggest work” is yet to come for Chelsea this transfer window

Chelsea have been super fast in getting agreed sales for player departures in this last week or so, and we are starting to see some of these deals now officially confirmed.

By the end of the week we should see at least a handful of done deals in terms of players departing the club, and former Chelsea player Frank Leboeuf has been impressed with the amount of outgoings we are getting done so far.

But despite this, Leboeuf believes that the biggest work for Chelsea this summer transfer window is still yet to come, with an importance to sign players for the spine of the team.

The ex-Chelsea captain believes that the club need to sign a new goalkeeper, a new midfielder, and a new striker in order to resolve the main problems from last season.

He has just put out his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea FC column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, and had this to say on it: “On transfers this summer, we need to prioritise a goalkeeper, a midfielder, and a striker.

“We have to resolve the problem of the spine of the team. We need to secure the middle of the park, the back, and the striker. That’s the biggest work we have to achieve very quickly because it’s not possible to start the season wondering who is going to score goals, and who is going to stop the goals.”

  1. Maignan – Caceido – Jackson. These should work for now, pending when Ivan Toney will be back from suspension. Also, Lavia will be an added bonus if we can get him.
