“High likelihood a transfer gets done” – Reliable reporter updates on crucial Chelsea deal

Chelsea are currently involved in a number of high profile transfer deals that are gaining a huge amount of attention and drama this summer.

It was never going to be a quiet period for Chelsea at all, with a huge squad to cut down, FFP rules to follow and balance out, and more signings to make as they continue a big squad rebuild. But some of the drama and media noises that some of these deals have created has just made some of it like a complete circus.

And I am specifically speaking about the Mason Mount situation here of course, which has just gone crazy. We have consistently been hearing contrasting and different reports and rumours on this one, and both sides of this story is completely different to the other one. It’s just madness.

Reliable reporter Ben Jacobs had the latest on what he understands yesterday writing in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea FC column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea.

Jacobs said: “It’s been difficult for Mason Mount, and we’re hearing all kinds of stories and sides.

“At the time I’m writing this, Manchester United haven’t walked away, but they’re not going to overpay. And this has always been the case. As I exclusively revealed six weeks ago, Manchester United’s top-end valuation has always been £60m. So now we need to wait and see whether or not the sides can find some kind of compromise. But Manchester United are clear, they will only sign Mount on their terms and won’t meet Chelsea’s £58+7m counter. I still think there is a high likelihood a transfer gets done.”
