Italian side still interested in Chelsea talent for €15m as they prepare for Champions League football

For years we heard about Ruben Loftus-Cheek and his appeal for Maurizio Sarri, who was constantly linked with the midfielder who shone on his watch at Chelsea.

Now there are new links emerging to another academy talent who made his breakthrough with Sarri at Stamford Bridge. Callum Hudson-Odoi has never quite been able to fulfill the promise he showed then, and he is now a bit of a lost soul after a poor loan to Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Chelsea would rather sell outright than loan him as they look to balance their books, and according to the Laziali the winger – still just 22 – is now interesting Sarri and Lazio after they performed well this season, confounding expectations and finishing second in a competitive division.

He’s valued at just €15m or so in the piece, and we can see a pretty small sum being agreed if Chelsea retain some sell on percentage or perhaps a buy back clause. That may be the best way to shift him permanently this summer while giving us the chance of some major uplift in the future, should he finally come good and play like we all know he can.

After all that, we can’t rule out a Loftus-Cheek move either. Chelsea are still keen to sell and we presume Lazio are keen to buy – it’s just hard to see the Roman club stumping up the serious money needed to buy him.
