This is one of those transfer sagas that Chelsea could honestly do without being right in the middle of, but I am afraid they are, well and truly.
The drama, frustration, and annoyance surrounding the Mason Mount situation is something Chelsea and new manager Mauricio Pochettino could really do without as they wait to attack a new season and get themselves back on track in the Premier League. But the drama that this is bringing is just not helping anything as Pochettino gets ready to officially start his role as Blues boss on July the 1st.
Sources: Chelsea’s 5-man shortlist to replace Kai Havertz and Mason Mount!
We’ve been hearing about Manchester United offers for Mount all last week, but they are still to match Chelsea’s valuation, who appear to be holding firm. This led to some reports that United had given up on their attempts to sign Mount and left the negotiations.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano understands that is NOT the case and they remain in negotiations to sign Mount, who clearly wants the move.
Understand Man United have not left the negotiations for Mason Mount — as £55m bid is still valid on the table. But not accepting Chelsea’s £65m counter offer. 🚨🔴 #MUFC
Door remains open but Man Utd will not wait forever, believing £55m is fair bid.
