Manchester United not expected to seriously turn attentions to Chelsea target

There seems to be a handful of players this summer who are liked and wanted by the same teams, and many of these players involve Chelsea.

It’s completely normal of course for all the top clubs to be wanting to sign the same top players, and these often end up in battles to sign them. For example, we are seeing, and have seen, Chelsea and Arsenal battling to sign many of the same players of late.

For this story though, it is Manchester United and Chelsea who both like Chelsea’s priority midfield target this summer, Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

However, according to insider Ben Jacobs writing in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea FC column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea yesterday, Manchester United are not expected to seriously turn their attentions to Moises Caicedo despite a historical interest.

Jacobs said: “I don’t see Manchester United seriously turning their attention to Moises Caicedo despite a historical interest. Even if they wanted him, it’s not a priority position and the fee will likely prove too high for them. It’s all games and the situation should be a whole lot clearer by the end of this week.”

This would be great news for Chelsea of course, who are widely expected to be coming back in with another offer for the midfielder once some outgoing sales are confirmed.
