The Manuel Ugarte transfer deal has been turned on its head, and now we are hearing that the midfielder is in Paris to conclude his move to PSG.
As recently as 24 hours ago all signs pointed to Chelsea, but major moves last night likely involving his agent Jorge Mendes have changed everything, and now RMC Sport in France are reporting that the Uruguay midfielder is in the French capital with Mendes and his other client Marco Asensio – who is about to sign on a free transfer.
This whole affair has been a real rollercoaster, and Chelsea went from their first proper links with the midfielder to what was being reported as a done deal within days.
Just when we had all accepted it was happening, everything changed. It seems like PSG are offering a more tempting wage packet, as well as offering Champions League football next season.
Let’s hope this doesn’t start to become a pattern.
