Kylian Mbappe is going to potentially be on the market this summer after the striker informed PSG that he won’t be extending his contract, which will now end in a year’s time.
The Parisians will now consider selling him this summer for a huge fee, to protect his value.
There are very few clubs who can afford him, and Chelsea aren’t one of them. However the best player in the world moving club will have seismic trickle down effects throughout the whole transfer market.

His most likely destination were he to leave this summer would be Real Madrid. For one thing, that kills our hope of selling them Kai Havertz stone dead. They will be stretched hugely to afford the fee and wages for Mbappe, even after getting Eden Hazard, Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio off their books.
But it opens up new possibilities too. If Mbappe goes there, then maybe Lautaro Martinez is available for us to sign. Perhaps now PSG will want Havertz? Or Romelu Lukaku? The stone has been dropped in the pond by Mbappe’s statement last night. Now we can just watch the ripples spread.
