Chelsea’s attempts to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton had seemed to become a little dead in the water, with other top clubs including Arsenal wanting to sign him as well.
However, there have been some major developments in that story this afternoon from some top sources which puts Chelsea well and truly back in the running to sign the Ecuadorian international.
Sources: The latest on Chelsea’s goalkeeper pursuit – Emi Martinez, Andre Onana, and Robert Sanchez!
First of all, it looks like Arsenal have cooled their interest in signing Caicedo, which means there is one less club for Chelsea to worry about in terms of competition for his signature.
Arsenal focused on Declan Rice right now, despite bidding for Caicedo in January and planning for this summer with him on their list. As per @garyjacob, #AFC interest has cooled.

As well as that, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has posted some further positive news on Chelsea’s pursuit, naming them frontrunners to sign Caicedo.
Chelsea are working hard on Moisés Caicedo deal. Talks have been taking place for weeks. Nothing done yet. 🔵🇪🇨 #CFC
It has always been Chelsea frontrunners despite rumours of Arsenal bid in the last weeks.
Arsenal focus remains on Declan Rice and Havertz.

And then, insider The Secret Scout has posted an update on top of all of that saying that Caicedo actually wants to join Chelsea, which if course puts them in a perfect standpoint in negotiations.
As @FabrizioRomano stated, nothing has changed, Chelsea want him, Caicedo wants Chelsea. Similar to Rice to Arsenal…
They all have to work and agree how much. 🔵 #CFC https://t.co/tMUuxxdLo4
