Multiple Chelsea sales expected in next 10 days – but some look a long way off

We’ve heard a lot about how much Chelsea need to sell players this summer and we’ve heard a lot about a deadline on the 30th of June. That’s when the FFP window for this season just gone closes, and given Chelsea spent something like £600m, it will crater their numbers unless they get some players out.

We will see further sales later in the summer, but a chunk need to come in the next 10 days, and that makes it certain that the already accelerating pace of these moves picks up even further.

If the Saudi Arabian clubs negotiating for a host of Blues including Hakim Ziyech, Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly prove easy to negotiate with, perhaps we could see a triple header on that front.

Otherwise thing don’t look positive. The Mason Mount situation looks like it could lead to a long drawn out saga all summer as they look to wear down out resistance. We wouldn’t be counting on any of that being resolved in the next 10 days unless we suddenly lower our asking price.

The Kai Havertz deal looks further along, but still difficult to conclude anytime soon. The Ruben Loftus-Cheek to Milan sale was a front runner but has been derailed by events on the Italian side.

We may yet see Chelsea hurrying through these transfer to Saudi clubs in the next 10 days, even at the cost of some higher fees.
