After a quiet week, the Mason Mount transfer story is back in action.
Matt Law has this morning relayed the latest update from the front lines. Manchester United will make an offer today of £50m, plus £5m in bonuses.
Chelsea still want £65m, and will likely hold out a little longer, but sources elsewhere like Nizaar Kinsella are implying that this is going to be a final bid from United, who don’t want to be pushed around any further.
Manchester United are expected to made a new bid of £50m plus £5m in add ons for Mason Mount today. Chelsea’s valuation has come down to £65m but there will surely be a temptation to find an agreement from there #cfc #mufc

Still, with just a £10m difference in valuation now and both parties keen to see the transfer happen, we’re sure it will be done eventually. Both clubs will be deep in talks now and neither is going to walk away over a sum that small (for football).
United know they can wait a year and have Mount for free, but there are other teams out there who are interested, and given the money the Red Devils have spent over the years, an extra £10m here to secure Mason right away won’t hurt.
