N’Golo Kante meets Galatasaray board member and could make decision about future within 15 days

N’Golo Kante has been linked with a move to Turkey by Fanatik.com

Turkish Football’s translation of their piece claims that Erdem Timur, a member of Galatasaray’s board, has already had talks with the midfielder in London.

Kante’s contract expires this summer, and while it was previously looking pretty likely that he signed up for another year with Chelsea given his happiness in London, things are now trending the other way. We haven’t had a positive update about his talks with Chelsea for some time, and now these rumours about interest from Turkey are sounding increasingly credible.

World Cup winner Kante is apparently a top target for the Turkish giants, who want to add him to a star studded lineup of older players including Juan Mata and Mauro Icardi. They are in the Champions League once again next year and want to make it count.

Kante has been brilliant for Chelsea when fit in the last couple of seasons – but those periods have been in short supply, and given we look likely to sign at least one player in his position this summer, the ground may be being prepared for a departure for the 31 year old.

There’s no doubt it would be a blow – but less of a blow than it would have been a year ago. It sounds like we will find out soon enough whether or not we can count on Kante next year.
