Chelsea have just announced on their official website that Kai Havertz has left the club to join Arsenal on a permanent deal after three years at Stamford Bridge.
The attacker played more minutes than any player for us last season but largely struggled up front, ploughing a lone furrow at the top of the team, not getting many chances and missing those he was getting.
Sources like the Athletic are claiming it’s a £65m fee, a good return and the kind of money that really unlocks our own potential to sign a replacement.

His goal in Porto won us the Champions League, and his goal in the subsequent Club World Cup final won us that too. So he will always have that legacy – although fans will remember more than anything else a talent that we couldn’t really unlock.
Let’s hope it doesn’t all come together at Arsenal – that would be a mightily frustrating situation.
