“Premature” – Chelsea striker makes key transfer decision ahead of pinnacle window

The transfer window has officially opened today in England, and it marks the start of what will be a very busy and pinnacle transfer window for Chelsea and many of their players.

All the talk this week has been surrounding Chelsea and Inter Milan, and the amount of deals and discussions they are looking to have together surrounding a number of players, the main one being Romelu Lukaku.

It looks like the striker ideally wants to stay at Inter, but his high wages and likely high asking price would, and is, proving a problem for Inter to keep him there. Lukaku spent last season on loan in Serie A, and it looks like the club want to keep him on loan for another season at least.

But Lukaku has also had interest coming in from Saudi, and they would present a permanent offer, one which Chelsea would obviously much prefer.

But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport today, as cited by Chels HQLukaku thinks leaving for Saudi Arabia aged 30 is premature and he wants to continue playing in Europe, even if Chelsea and Inter can’t reach an agreement on another loan deal.
