“Starting point” price named for Chelsea to sign Moises Caicedo, Liverpool not in race

As we know, Chelsea are looking to try and sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo this summer, with him becoming one of their priority targets.

The Blues are looking to continue the squad revamp and are looking at the midfield first and foremost. Caicedo has been looked at and wanted by Chelsea for some time now, and he is also liked and wanted at Arsenal.

Insider Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports has the very latest on that situation in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea FC column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea today. It is a bit of a transfer special speaking about a host of different names including Moises Caicedo, Lautaro Martinez, Andre Onana, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Christian Pulisic and much more!

Jacobs says that Caicedo is a big Chelsea target this summer and a fee of £70m is the starting point to what Brighton will accept for the midfielder, but they will also be looking for some add-ons, and how the deal is structured.

Jacobs said: “Moises Caicedo is definitely still a big Chelsea target, as first revealed last December. Brighton rejected Chelsea’s bid in January. The expectation from sources is that both Chelsea and Arsenal will try again. Liverpool will not be in the race since they don’t see value at the price required.

“Even though Brighton are just offering up a specific number, my understanding is it’s going to take a starting point of £70m guaranteed plus at least £10m in add ons. Caicedo signed a new deal after the January window knowing the club would still let him leave this summer, but putting pen to paper will ensure Brighton get a healthy fee.

“I don’t think Caicedo will end up being £100m, but Brighton will clearly welcome a bidding war.”

  1. 70 millones por Caicedo no más, y si no es viable mejor poner a R. JAMES de 5, quizás tenga buena adaptación en esa posición como marca y le brinde menos desgaste lo cual ayudará a su recuperación
