“Strategy game on” – Fabrizio Romano updates on potential big Chelsea transfer deal

Chelsea could find themselves in the middle of one of the most dramatic transfer deals of the summer in the coming weeks.

The transfer window opens on June the 14th and Chelsea are expected to be heavily involved. The drama has already began with one potential deal though, and it is a drama that most Chelsea fans are already entirely sick and fed up of.

Sources: Chelsea player yet to be told by club or Pochettino what his future is!

I am of course talking about the Mason Mount situation – will he stay or will he go?

It looks unlikely that he will sign a new contract at Chelsea this summer, so that means they will either need to sell him now, or risk losing him as a free agent next summer.

Right now, it looks like they are caught between both options.

Fabrizio Romano had an update on the situation and he calls it a ‘strategy game’ right now with Manchester United readying their offer.

Right now, it looks like Chelsea are pricing suitors out of a move for Mount.

  1. C’mon, Chelsea isn’t pricing Mount out of a move, lol. This is all just the posturing that goes with the bargaining process, for crying out loud! They’d be the worst deal makers in the world if their initial asking price was so low that it was immediately accepted. In fact, that’s precisely how you’d know they’d asked for too little! Besides, if the vast majority of Chelsea supporters who think the sun rises and sets on Mount are right, then he’s worth every bit of the price the club have set. Why wouldn’t we squeeze every last drop from a league rival?
