The Moises Caicedo contract clause that will “help facilitate” Chelsea move

Chelsea feel that they have a plus point in their attempts to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton this summer.

Of course, other interested clubs could also take advantage of this plus point, but right now it is Chelsea who are being heavily reported to be the most interested club in Caicedo and are expected to make their move for the midfielder very soon.

Caicedo has a clause in his contract that will help any club try and sign him, although it’s not a specific fee for a release clause.

Reliable insider Ben Jacobs has been explaining about it in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea FC column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea this week.

Jacobs says there is a clause in Caicedo’s contract that will help Chelsea facilitate a move, with the midfielder being high on their target list now after the move to sign Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon broke down.

He explains: “Chelsea have other midfield targets, including Moises Caciedo. Brighton are braced for offers. Even though he signed a new contract recently, it doesn’t preclude a summer move.

“My understanding is his new contract has a clause to help facilitate a transfer, although there is no actual ‘release’ number. With Alexis Mac Allister it’s a bit different, and that’s why Liverpool are on the brink of pulling off a bargain signing. It’s not 100% done at the time I am writing this, but there is a key meeting today and optimism on the Liverpool side he will be their player very soon.”
