Top goalkeeper once again linked with move to Chelsea, but would be No.1 not No.2

Chelsea have once again been linked with one of the top goalkeepers in Europe today, a stopper whom of which they had been heavily linked with in the past.

Diogo Costa from Porto seems to be a keen target for Manchester United as well this summer, but Chelsea are also now back in the mix.

Sources: Kai Havertz actively pushing to move to Arsenal!

According to Record Portugal, Diogo Costa is on Chelsea’s list of options for the replacement of Edouard Mendy. There is still no concrete proposal from the blues, but the process is being led by Jorge Mendes.

Costa would not come cheap though, and he is a very high profile goalkeeper. So there is no way he would be coming in to Chelsea, IF it did happen, as a number two backup to Kepa Arrizabalaga. He would have to be the number one in the sticks.

Reports have circulated that Kepa might be kept on as Chelsea’s number one, so any new keeper who comes in would have to be backup/competition. No way Costa would come in for that.
