Top source links Chelsea with world class goalkeeper, deal to suit both sides could be done

Chelsea look to be in the market to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper with Edouard Mendy on his way out this summer.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to stay at the club and try and compete with any new goalkeeper, but if this next target comes in then he will almost certainly have to settle with a firm second choice. That is because Mike Maignan of AC Milan is a world class stopper, and Chelsea are looking at signing him.

Sources on Midfield: Matheus Nunes, Dominik Szoboszlai, Moises Caicedo, Mohammed Kudus, Romeo Lavia, plus outgoings!

The Guardian today write, Chelsea could attempt to sign the AC Milan goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, this summer.

The article is based around Milan signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek, with that deal expected to be made official very soon now, and also their keen interest in signing Christian Pulisic.

So perhaps something could be done here that suits all parties? If they’re in negotiations anyway, you’d imagine that Chelsea will at least mention Maignan and could step up their interest. Something could surely be done here.
