Two players who definitely “will not continue at Chelsea” – but why they might also have to

The transfer window is now officially open, and we’re starting to hear more and more authoritative statements about what Chelsea’s plans will be. The time for rumours is ending, and the time for insiders and action is starting.

Matteo Moretto, the Serie A man working for Spanish outlet Relevo has a strong take on two players he claims will definitely NOT be at Chelsea next season – Kalidou Koulibaly and Romelu Lukaku.

The centre back is apparently not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for next season and is on the market, with Chelsea hoping to include him as a makeweight in a deal for a player they want.

Meanwhile Lukaku wants to go back to Inter and is currently “not thinking about other options.”

Neither will be here for the start of preseason, if all goes to plan.

That much is becoming clear from Chelsea’s moves so far this summer, but it’s more complex than simply declaring they won’t be there. The Blues have to find clubs to take them, and given the huge wages they’re on, that will prove very difficult, if not impossible.
