Chelsea keen on Newcastle teenager as academy recruitment drive continues

Chelsea fans are starting to panic about the lack of first team recruitment – but there are certainly no doubts we’re getting serious about strengthening our academy. We’re genuinely losing count of the teenage stars we’re recruiting from across the globe, and according to Fabrizio Romano, we’ve got our next target lined up already.

He claims that Newcastle midfielder Ollie Harrison, still just 15, is a Blues target, with Brighton and Wolves also interested in him. It will come down to his preference on where he think he will be developed the best, and where he has the easiest pathway to making first team appearances.

Harrison is a precocious talent, and played 12 matches for the Magpies’ U18 team last season despite his age. He’s also a regular with the England U16 team.

It’s good to know that, at least at youth level, we’re still presenting a more tempting destination than the Magpies, who at senior level are now offering Champions League football and wages on a par with ours.
