Versatile defender must leave Chelsea to become €20m+ plus player

Football.London last night reported that Trevoh Chlaobah is considering offers from Inter Milan and Newcastle United over possible moves as he looks to become a first team regular somewhere.

Chalobah is just on the cusp of playing time regular enough at Chelsea to make staying worthwhile, and it’s easy to see either side of the argument.

A couple of injuries this season and a switch to a back 3 could see him get regular football. On the other hand, the most likely scenario of all is that we play a back 4, and he just plays a couple of cup games.

Given that, and given how his stocks have been rising and he can take advantage now, we clearly see why he might be keen to move on. Transfermarkt have his value at €18m, and he can double that in a few years playing regularly at a team like Inter. He’s certainly got the potential to do that, but it won’t happen on the bench at Chelsea.
