“He will be part of the first team” – Pochettino’s final squad coming together with season just over a week away

We heard earlier today from Nathan Gissing that a decision had been made on the future of two of Chelsea’s midfield prospects, and that information is already being backed up by quotes from Italy.

The decision seems to be that Cesare Casadei will be the one to go on loan, while Andrey Santos stays in the first team squad. Huge support has been given to that idea by quotes from Morgan De Sanctis, the sporting director at Salernitana.

He revealed in quotes picked up today by Simon Phillips that his club had expressed interest in Brazil international Santos, only to be rebuffed by Chelsea who have “decided that he will be part of the first team.”

It’s a decision that makes sense, and not just because the youngster has been given a work permit to play in England. He looks a little more polished than Casadei, and certainly has a skillset which fits what we’re missing a little better.

  1. Chelsea should go for Daizen Maida, the left-footed Celtic player. He will be a perfect addition to the squad. Thanks.

  2. Please cesandro should stay too at least he is good
Please want to see all this little boys play it will be amazing and see them struggle to get the first 11 it will motivate them. And remember we don’t do well on Christmas period because of much injurys so they should all stay please

  3. It’s good that Santos will be part of CFC first team by not loaning him . Casadei is good too though he can be part of CFC by giving him chance . Hope either Alvarez or Lavia to be sign while they’re negotiating to get caicedo . If they can’t get caicedo both Alvarez and Lavia will be good signing plus cheaper version of caicedo . The price of caicedo can buy two Central midfielder quality .
It’s nearing the season start , Chelsea needs to get important reinforcement before the season start.

  4. Casedei,Casedei,Casedei ,Casedei !!!!!..Well he’s a good player but at this rate we can’t afford to spend that much on one player. There’s an option for Edson Alvarez, Matthew Nunes and Tyler Adams at a reasonable price in as far as experience is concerned. We also have Santos,Casedei and Ugochukwu besides Ian can play in that position as well.Chelsea’s transfer has been confusing lately; I don’t see the reason of signing players to take them on loan yet we need to strengthen the midfield.Besides what if we sign Caisedo and presumably he gets insured, would Chelsea have a perfect replacement for him?
