Raheem Sterling’s change of diet and training regime helped him combat hamstring issues

This is a very interesting bit of information from an article by The Times this morning all about Raheem Sterling’s Chelsea revival this season.

I mean, it’s very early doors with the season as we are only three games in, but we are already seeing some very good improvements from Sterling and his performances in a Chelsea shirt, especially compared to last season.

But it does look like Sterling was struggling with a hamstring issue and as well as that, being a bit too heavy.

At least that is according to the aforementioned article. They claim that part of Sterling’s revival is down to sorting out a niggle in his hamstring and improving his recovery sessions. His improved form can also be attributed to his request to Chelsea to recommend a nutritionist, and moving to a more protein-based diet, and losing a small amount of weight, and shedding some muscle that he thought placed pressure on his hamstring. He looks leaner and quicker.
