“Ready to start” – Chelsea can expect important signing to debut tomorrow night

Chelsea are playing a Friday night game, meaning a Thursday presser, and one of the big questions for Mauricio Pochettino this afternoon was which of his new signings will get a debut.

Pochettino confirmed that Moises Caicedo was “ready to start” – and while he didn’t confirm he would start, he certainly made it sound like it.

In a way we’re surprised – Caicedo looked so off the pace on Sunday when he came on as a sub against West Ham that one might expect he needs more than 4 days training to get up to speed with the rest of the team. Coming on as a sub is always more difficult however, and it may be that getting him on the pitch from the start helps him settle in to the game and find his rhythm.

Either way, tomorrow the Ecuador international has the perfect chance to make amends for his dodgy debut.
