Young Chelsea attacker closes in on second lower league loan

Harvey Vale is closing to joining Bristol Rovers on loan for the season, Football.London have reported.

The attacker has looked brilliant in the youth ranks for years, but had a disappointing Championship loan at Hull City last season cut short due to a lack of game time. Let’s hope dropping down to League One helps him pick up guaranteed minutes. He’s too good for that level really, and hopefully can upgrade to a Championship club in January if all goes well.

Still just 19 years old, Vale can pay as a striker or out wide, and has the talent to really make an impact at that level if he picks the right team. Rovers are managed by former Premier League midfielder Joey Barton, and have drawn their two opening games of the season.

This won’t be an easy season for them or for Vale, but hopefully it proves to be a formative one where the kid can really get his teeth into senior football and start picking up the games he needs to really develop as a player.
