Chelsea are “monitoring Aaron Ramsdale’s future,” according to a report in the Daily Mail tonight.
Ramsdale was left out for Arsenal’s win over Everton, with his manager claiming it was just a matter of rotation, for the sake of competition as well as fitness.
His performances have dipped over the last 12 months, but it didn’t feel that it had reached the point where he would be ruthlessly bombed out – for now at least, we believe Mikel Arteta’s reasoning.

We can still see Robert Sanchez being upgraded within the next 24 months – given the endless turnover we’ve had that doesn’t seem impossible at all. But only for a really established elite keeper.
They’ve spent too much on too many teenagers to buy yet another mid-20s semi-established Premier League player in Ramsdale. If they do replace Sanchez, it will be in an attempt to buy some elite, proven talent opportunistically to try and compensate for the lack in the squad as of this moment.
