Former Chelsea defender thinks club still need a striker, says Jackson wont score 20-25 goals

Despite Chelsea spending almost one billion pounds in the last three transfer windows since the new owners came in, one former Chelsea defender STILL believes that they need another striker.

William Gallas does not believe that Nicolas Jackson will be that man, the one who will score 20-25 goals a season, and he believes that is what Chelsea are lacking right now and need if they want to challenge for the Premier League title again.

Sources: Operation Ivan Toney now begins for Chelsea!

Gallas says that he does rate Jackson and thinks he is a good young player, but he doubts that he is going to be the prolific goalscorer that the club needs.

Speaking about Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest in words cited by ChelsTransfer, Gallas said: “For Chelsea to win the Premier League, your striker NEEDS to reach around 20-25 goals, and I don’t think Jackson will do it, even though I think he is a really good young player and you can see his qualities.

“Chełsea need a striker, 1 striker and maybe 1 experienced midfielder. Although it looks like Jackson is really good, he is still young and has to learn. I don’t know if he is going to score enough goals for Chełsea to help them win the Premier League.”

Gallas also picked up on Chelsea’s lack of experience and believes that the squad is just too young to challenge for the Premier League title and lacks some older heads. He isn’t the first one to mention and highlight that lately, and Mauricio Pochettino certainly has his work cut out for him.
