Chelsea really need to win some games of football, mainly just to quieten down the media frenzy that’s ensued after only getting 5 points from there first 5 matches which admittedly, is not good enough.
But it’s easy to speak negatively on Chelsea right now and question the transfer business they have done. From the outside in it does look rather chaotic right now, even if Chelsea insist they are building a project here and things will take time.
One pundit who does not need any excuses to go after Chelsea and especially Todd Boehly and the Blues owners, is former Manchester United and England right back Gary Neville.
Nev was speaking on Sky yesterday after Chelsea drew 0-0 with Bournemouth in the Premier League, and he once again described Chelsea’s operations and transfer business as ‘mad’.
Neville believes Chelsea have made too many changes too quickly and there is now a lack of stability at the club.
In quotes picked up by The Daily Mirror, Neville said: “It’s mad, it’s chaotic – the amount of players they bring in, we have been saying it for 15 months!
“Cole Palmer being bought for £40million from Man City is another one. We have seen it with United, that lack of stability at the top since Todd Boehly came in from Roman Abramovich. Every department at the club has changed and its too much.
“They just need to stop. Sometimes I say this about my own life but when you feel like you are spinning on a roundabout too fast, you need to stop and allow things to slow down. It must be like that for Pochettino and the fans at the moment. They don’t know who will play from one game to the next.
“The project feels a bit mad with no coordination. I know they are signing young players on long contracts but it is something I am not sure about; Pochettino is a fantastic coach and the club will have to let their manager work it out over a period of time.”
