Journalist says Premier League striker ‘remains one to watch’ for Chelsea this January

Chelsea could well be in the market for a new player already in the next transfer window.

Of course, it’s very early doors at the moment and fortunes can be turned around; we have only played five matches of the new season.

But Chelsea are already struggling in front of goal and really, it is there only problem right now other than a long injury list as usual. But they are creating the chances but just not finishing them.

So would a new striker help that? It certainly could, and Chelsea continue to be linked with a move to sign Ivan Toney in the winter transfer window.

The Brentford striker is said to be 100% leaving the club in 2024, as Fabrizio Romano has reported also today.

But as well as that, insider Ben Jacobs has said that Toney to Chelsea is ‘one to watch’, writing in his latest extensive and exclusive Chelsea column for SPTC today.

Jacobs said: “There’s no doubt Chelsea will bring in a traditional No.9 in January if the shyness in front of goal continues. Ivan Toney remains one to watch.”
