As we build up to Chelsea’s game against Bournemouth this afternoon, the Chelsea website has published some words from manager Mauricio Pochettino ahead of the match.
The Blues make the short trip to the south coast to take on another team who have not had the greatest of starts to the new season, but it’s also a stadium that is very hard for clubs to go to and get a result.
Pochettino will feel that this one is a must-win if Chelsea want to get close to achieving their goals this season, which is at least a European place again.
The Chelsea website says that Pochettino remains adamant we should not settle for anything less than European football this season, with the target remaining a top-four spot.
It’s very ambitious, but it’s good to have goals. And this is Chelsea Football Club, a club that simply must not accept mediocre and go for the jugular.
