England face Ukraine on Saturday in Poland, giving Mykhailo Mudryk the perfect chance to show the doubters what he can do.
His short career before coming to Chelsea was full of promise – great moments both for Shakhtar Donetsk and for Ukraine. But the more fans have seen of him in action, the greater the doubts have grown about him.
His cameos off the bench this season for Chelsea have been utterly dire, and he seems to have little chance of earning a first team spot anytime soon.
Still, for his country he remains an important player, and on Saturday he faces off against some of his Chelsea teammates.
One of the big excuses made by his defenders at the moment is that he’s being put into games when Chelsea are trying to score, playing against deep lying defences. That certainly doesn’t suit his game.
Well, a strong England side will come out to attack on Saturday – so there’s nowhere to hide for Ukraine’s star boy.
