Talk of a new Chelsea offer to Conor Gallagher is continuing, with Caughtoffside today reporting that sources have told them that the Blues are planning a new offer soon – but also warning that there’s interest from elsewhere.
Both Newcastle and Tottenham are absolutely flying this season, and apparently were both keen on Gallagher in the summer. The pair will return in January for another attempt to sign the midfielder.
Back in the summer that looked a relatively easy task – Chelsea had all but put him up for sale, and it was only Gallagher’s personal reluctance which stopped him going.
Now he’s proved himself a regular and a favourite for Mauricio Pochettino, as well as wearing the armband week after week, surely the suits upstairs at the club have realised they can’t let him go.
At the very least, any potential buyer will be expecting to pay a lot more now than they were in August.
