Chelsea are desperate for a number 9 and the best one out there who they have any chance of signing is without doubt Victor Osimhen.
The forward has shown himself to be world class at Napoli, and it feels inevitable that one day he will make the move to one of the top clubs in football. Chelsea aren’t that right now – or anywhere close – but they’ve had some moments where they can believe they’re in with a chance of signing him.
One key factor has been Osimhen’s relationship with Napoli. As long as he’s happy there, we’ve got no chance. But a breakdown in relationships there, caused by some offensive social media posts from Napoli’s accounts, seemed to have opened the door for Chelsea.
It’s a chance they’ll have to take quickly however – we’re already seeing reporting in places like Caughtoffside which says that the club and the Nigerian striker are making up, and if that’s true our chances of signing him will only diminish.
