As a home grown player and a guaranteed starter, Levi Colwill is rapidly becoming one of the elder statesmen in the Chelsea dressing room, despite a relative lack of experience.
He’s someone the club media channels can turn to for a quote after a bad result, and that’s exactly what happened yesterday after a stinging loss to Brentford.
“We’re very frustrated, we should have been in front at half-time and realistically, we should have put the game to bed. Credit to Brentford, they did their thing and stuck to their game-plan of sitting in. Then, when they had the opportunity at the other end, they took it,” the central defender said in quotes on the club’s official website.

“You have to stay switched on but unfortunately Brentford got in and put their chances away to get the win.
“We’re really disappointed with the outcome of the game but all we can do is learn from this, improve and build on this. We’ve got a tough run of fixtures coming up but hopefully we can pick up some points.”
We just hope desperately that Colwill and the rest of this group can turn things around. The patience of the fanbase is at an all time low as they’re suffered through almost two years of this sort of thing, and the booing at Stamford Bridge on Saturday was quite serious.
All this talk of gradual improvement and patience and time needed starts to wear very thin after a year or more has passed with seemingly no progress.
